....adjusted the 2 handled operation on their vertical splitter to something more user friendly?

Until recently i had a very old Posch foot operated one leaving both hands free. I found this so much more user friendly and most surprising I still have all fingers and both hands intact after 3 years of use.

I have a plan to mod mine to foot operated but it will be a bit trial and error to get it right.

Thanks

I guess it's all down to the individual.

To avoid this thread going down the line of the wrongs of modifying "safety equipment" thats not what i'm asking.

I understand the risks.

Thanks

D a tree surgeons has lost half a finger on a one hand operated splitter.

I did have a good chuckle about it. He is now called stumpy. Lol.

Seriously tho why would you want to remove something that is there to stop accidents???

The old Posch i had was foot operated as standard and there's a noticeable difference in the amount split in a day between the foot operated and two hand operated. Also on occasions i find i have to use my chest to help which is not good.

Funny enough, but the 17 tonne vertical Krpan I bought brand new, was, and I only suspect mind, very cleverly designed so as to be proper 2 handed in operation, until a doncy wee spring somehow got itself unhooked itself one day.

Musta been a splinter or sommat.

It is now entirely one handed in operation..

I have not yet effected the repair, being a lone hobby user.

Cheers
