15" is ideal, if you go to an 18", give Rob D a shout on this site and get a price on an 18" Oregon Micro Lite Pro narrow Kerf bar and a loop of 95VPX chain. The saw will have more success pulling this through big wood:thumbup:

Before you spend a fortune, if it's only occasional use you might get away with it. Try it first!

When I first started out and things were tough I ran an 18" bar with chisel chain on a Stihl 025, which I think is around 43cc.... Slow going but did the job....

Presuming you're just doing this for yourself, the extra three or four seconds per cut won't make the job any worse will they?

Good advice, thanks , yeah just cutting for myself, don't come across too much big stuff, but don't want to knock the stuffing out of my saw. Think having two saws would probably be wise anyway.
