Why not always use a pulley on anchor point?

i wouldnt use a pulley if you use a rope based friction knot as the lack of friction does your elbows in!! i only use one for the spiderjack. rest of the time i use a multisaver.

If using a VT and reduced friction anchor is doing your elbows you probably need to examine your technique.

i just found the lack of friction put more pressure on my right elbow in the split second before i pushed my prussik up with my left, leaving me with tennis elbow!! but maybe thats just me.

You could alter your system to stop this.

Either switch to a short closed hitch system (such as vt and hitch climber) where you tend slack after a few pulls, or rig a micro pulley to self tend the hitch, so all you have to do us pull down from below....

I got a spiderjack these days which has eliminated all that elbow pressure, i just pull up and there i stay:thumbup:
