Why not always use a pulley on anchor point?

if your just climbing up it is a pain to keep taking the pulley off.

 

if at top then a cambion saver or pulley a lot less friction.

also it could depend on the tree species as some bark causes less friction ie beech and sycamore are smooth so less friction than say oak or ash.

end of day i think its personal preferance. :)

i wouldnt use a pulley if you use a rope based friction knot as the lack of friction does your elbows in!! i only use one for the spiderjack. rest of the time i use a multisaver.

 

That's the most interesting comment ever heard about a pulley saver. :confused1:

 

 

And if you look it the other way round your elbows just will have to endure more friction every time you climb up to overcome the extra friction created by the rings of the multisaver....so all together the total will be zero IMO.

 

And the difference in friction is not that big, a pulley just works a little smoother but never ever noticed any difference in my elbows
