I kept coming back to the Purple Jellydisk, but it didn't seem to fit. But i can not find anything else similar.

I assume Fungi as Lichen would take years to accrue that much coverage.

The more i read about lichens the less i understand. Way more complicated than just Algae/ fungi symbiosis. Its good when nature makes you go WTF.

My first encounter with Rooting bolete (Caloboletus radicans), I’ve never come across this in the UK. Image three clearly showing the thread like roots associated with this fungi, found under Oak, SW France.
