Hi guys,

 

Found a fungi on a Robinia pseudoacacia, there are two old fruiting bodies at the base of the tree, and one which has just begun to emerge within a pocket on the main stem at around 2 meters. My initial thought when I saw it was Perenniporia fraxinea, however I want to get a second opinion... Any ideas?

 

P.s.Sorry the pictures aren't great quality but they are the best i could do!

I think you are on the money with your suggestion.

 

Worth taking out a wedge slice of the fruit body to look at the flesh and tube layer. This tends to helps with identification.

some fine fruiting from random inspections at work today.

 

Ganoderma resinaceum, Bolete species (maybe red cracking bolete), Fistulina hepatica, Collybia fuisipes , Podoscypha multizonata and Cyathus striatus (fluted birds nest)

Lots of mycorrhyzal species popping up all over the place

 

Boletus (Cauloboletus) radicans - (the rooting bolete) & Amanita franchetii on oak, Russula fragilis - (the fragile brittlegill) associated here with lime and a solitary Amanita crocea (the orange grisette) in grass within birch & oak woodland.
