Lazer Pointer....

Got myself one of these from scaryBay a couple of weeks back after getting hacked off pointing into trees when with a customer. You know when the conversation goes "yeh, that branch with the small twigs on it":mad1:

Great little thing, should have had one years ago. Only downside i found so far is, operating temp is 15-35 deg C. Still works at low temp but not as bright, soon warms up in your hand though.

Word of advice though - be careful not to shine it at areoplanes/helicoptors as it blinds the pilots and you can be arrested for it.

Also dont point it at passing military jets, they will automatically lock on to you as a legitimate target and you may get toasted!

Can the green laser be seen easier than the red?

Ive had it out in strong sunlight and its easily visible in the tree from 50m or so from the tree.

 

When i was looking at buying one, all the info seemed to suggest green lazers are more than twice as visible as red ones of the same strength.

 

It does have a good distance, and obviously its more visible in less light but often at great distances you need a steady hand!

That's a very good price.

 

I bought one a couple of years back for the same reason, cost me about £65

 

 

I've sometimes used it to point out potential bat habitat to climbers, during pre work assesments.

 

Did get frustrated with the lack of clarity in bright day light.

 

Stays in my Man Sack mostly these days.

 

 

Stick with it, It can be very useful.

Yes but pricing trees in the pitch dark is not very proffessional is it Pete
