Had mine for about 12 years and only used it a few times until Nov 2011 when I started firewood production. Its now on a few times a day and a cuppa from that is so much better than from a flask. The base is getting pretty beat up now - could only be from the heat as its kept in a Wolf box.

have one very good problem is if it is blowing a hoolie. i use something to guard againts wind to get going once its burning the wind makes it go boil 6 cups in 2 mins quicker than any kettle on a fire as for cooking on top mixed reveiws as other posts goes like stink so will cook but water boils so you have to stop cooking and empty water and refill to carry on cooking i just you,s the fire pan to cook does a good job i carry a sweet bag with kindling wood with a bit of fire lighter in bag works a treat. yet to use mine for a while. but its free to run just twigs. i used to take flask with coffee in have a brew then when lunchtime came make a brew and refill flask so hot water for afternoon tea.
