i cant believe what im reading as an ex halfords employee i can honestly say the staff that work in these stores that im reading about want a good kick up the you know what !!

i worked in halfords for many years nd never come across any staff member come out with such rediculas advice.

did have a few customers that would see me standing at the parts desk and look straight past me to the guy behind me mixing paint because he wanted his wipers fitted !!

think it annoyed him slightly when they asked me to fit them made me smile tho:001_tt2:

I would never ask for advice, or have anything fitted there. I knew someone who got a job there and had to fit a radio on his first day, with NO training!

I do buy some tools and oils from them. I have a trade card and it makes some of their prices pretty good.

I don't think you can fault their tools - reasonable quality with a no-quibble lifetime guarantee at very good prices. Also, if you have a trade card car batteries are dirt cheap and come with amazing warranties. Some of their bits and bobs are dear, but they are available on a Sunday when everywhere else is closed - you can't argue with that really.
