I have got a couple of good sites in Pembrokeshire( lots of big trees in pretty locations), but it will mean a bit of travel for every one.

One site has potential for camping.

Yeah I'm new to this site but there is loads of good info and helpful people on here.

 

My current background is Therapeutic horticulture - working with learning difficulties and mental health volunteers for a community project.

 

Prior to that I did 15 years in the fire & rescue service as a rope & technical rescue instructor, working in IRATA and specialist rope rescue tecniques.

 

Got a CS30 and spent 20 years or so using saws but have done a fair bit of domestic work over the last 2 or 3 years involving climbing and using silkys only. Have been hedgelaying for 12 years too but it's seasonal so me and my partner are thinking of starting up a more 'commercial' side with the trees as well.

 

Thinking that it would be very beneficial to see how arb work is done properly tho, there seems to be so many excellent techniques and climbing kit about as well as a lot of experienced people in the industry. Would like to go for the 38 and 39 eventually, the rec climb sounds like a good way to find out a bit more so I can make a decision about wether to take them or not.

Sorry, forgot to say I'm near Symonds Yat in the Forest of Dean just by Monmouth.
