My silky hand saw is too sharp

I dont know if its me or if anyone else keeps on slaping the teeth of there saw into there arm, just enough to make some dots

 

If its ti sharp run it along a brick for a little while

Couple of suggestions,

 

Don't put to much pressure of force into your cutting the saw its self will cut for you, doing this will only cause you to follow through when the cut is finished and hit the first thing which 9/10 times is your hand or arm, use a sling where possible to eliminate the risk of cutting yourself, and just generally think about what your doing not what you've got to do:thumbup1:

do not have a silky but similar pruning saw. but its a pain i have the sheaf on my belt put it back in but a couple of rows of teeth still show have to watch you do not cut your hand when going to pull it out of its sheaf again. lucky i have welding gauntlets on when laying so do protect hand but poor design think i will go back to arb shop and show the problem. apart from that ideal saw for cutting stool when pleached as has a long cut.

probably from using a blunt blade too long,not noticing how sharp a new blade is and forcing it through to much thinking its the blunt blade,thats what i use to find on the street trees anyway.

New sharp blades take a while to get used to. The last new blade I got, cuts alot faster, went straight into my forearm. It was very very messy high in a lime tree. 14 stitches later!
