Agreed, Felco is what I would recommend.

 

These might be worth a look as well if money is an issue:

Or if you want to go all Samurai:

Kanenori Loppers - Niwaki

 

Never had a problem with Bahco's pruning equipment and easy to find as they are orange!

the kanenori near to what i was looking for. but the felco,s yes do good equipment there secateurs are the dogs do da,s the one with the air bottle. saves having to use handle all the time. but there rotary handle does make pruning simple

We use Wilkinson Sword loppers for hedge laying and most other work. We have some Fiskars bypass loppers but the problem we have found with those is the plastic at the head end is rather weak (snapped 2 in one day cutting stuff smaller than my thumb width). But the Wilkinson sword ones are the bees knees for hedge laying and heavy pruning work.

Fiskars geared loppers for me. They are so light it makes using them a pleasure. Mine are bypass, and I'm really happy with them, but I think they do an anvil version too.
