Ahh it is a military jacket I am looking at and hinted at above.

Seems perfect in every way for tree cutting. Including wearing a harness O.o

Helikon Black Gunfighter Soft Shell Jacket

I have a similar one to this by RAB and as it says in the link you provided it is good as a mid layer or outer which is true if it is a damp drizzly/light rain periodically but not something that i would want to be in hard hammering rain all day

Did that get an answer or not ? I would love to know the reason as well.

I am looking at a jacket similar to cut and climb but half the expense.

Hi Guys.....thanks for the positive feedback on our cutandclimb jacket. It's brilliant to hear that our jacket is keeping you all nice and dry in this Great British Weather! :)

To answer your question on the pricing VEG and Matt GT....

The first cutandclimb jackets were priced at around £85+ VAT and latterly, before the new version came out, we reduced the price a little just to move the stock. This version has now completely sold out and has been replaced with the new version.

The current price of the new cutandclimb jacket, £125 + VAT, reflects the increased quality of the fabric used. The new cutandclimb fabric is laminated, not coated, which means that the fabric always maintains it's waterproof qualities and doesn't need reproofed. This fabric is also more breathable, helping to keep you comfortable as perspiration is allowed to escape through the fabric as you work. It's also more durable and has great colour fastness qualities which keeps it looking new for much longer.

The cutandclimb jacket is also still manufactured in the UK. We could take it overseas to be produced, which may help to reduce the retail price, however we know and trust the quality of manufacture here and this is very important to us. As a company, we always take great pride in our products and wouldn't want to compromise this in any way.

Hope this answers your question. :)

I loved mine before this post, but Clark supporting British industry justifies every penny I spent on it.
