Saws from USA

Thinking of bringing back a Husqvarna saw from the USA when i go in January. Can anyone give me any advice on the pros and cons etc... If its worthwhile and if so what do you recommend.

Hi, if its for at home, umight save a few quid but getting parts may be an issue and forget any warranty.

If its work, do not bother as the saws are not EU compliant and ur insurance would be void if there was evr a problem. Not worth the grief!

GaryJP- Many thanks, i did not even think about the safety markings. Thats a bummer as the wife works for an airline and she is goes to the states weekly. Could have saved a fortune.

I will try to remember to look at my 346 and 372 and see if they carry EU marks tomorrow and report back.

The 346 XP doesn't have a Ser# plate out in the open.

 

 

Both have the safety sticker above the emission sticker.

 

Looks like a person may need to order some replacement EU stickers.

I agree Reddog. The saw would cost more in the UK, but I suspect the ownership may be to much of a burdon is purchased in the USA.

If your going to worried about safety markings and warranty then buying from the states won't be for you, if you feel you may have an accident with an imported saw then tree work may not be for you either.

 

Getting replacement parts? What would be so different between a saw for the American market and the European market except maybe emissions?

 

The only thing wrong about importing saws from the states is announcing it on an open forum.

Exactly . I have some Canadian big Husqvarnas ,all got twin port mufflers so no EPA stuff . Once the stickers have rubbed off there is no difference . Parts are the same exept the high top filters and covers but its all gettable .
