First take down :)

Did my first take down today, the victim was a dead 30' eucalyptus measuring about 18" across at the bottom, not too far from a house. All went well and it came down as expected and finished up by cutting and splitting it all for the owner. Was also the first proper day out for the 550 and I have to say I'm really impressed with it, it's running an 18" bar and semi chain and despite everyone saying the saw isn't big enough for it...it powered through with the full bar in timber really well, never bogged down at all!! No pics of the whole tree but got one of the stem ImageUploadedByTapatalk1355245875.232983.jpg.6adfdf9983f5bdde05da39737ceb4486.jpg.

Bah it's no odds to me, he wanted it so he's got it haha, been dead around 4-5 years though so it's pretty dry. Yeah no worries Gary, next time I come for a rec climb ill chuck it in the truck.

Missed the dead bit of that thread! It's always a touch when the customer says they want the logs when you know it's shite for burning! Nice job.

Superb fire wood as long as you burn it on a stove . ( spits and pops ) Burns really well and very hot . Got some at 8% moisture . love it .
