Pole Pruning Saw advice

Looking at getting myself a hand pole pruning saw and not sure what to buy. Would need it for ground to air light work and occasionally working in the tree off the climbing line.

 

Is silky the only way to go or is there a more sensible or cost effective tool??

I've had a Jameson set for eight years, its been used a LOT and only broken one pole and two springs on the pruner head.

They may look pricey mate but you get what you pay for in a silky, long run silky hands down.....

i had a silky longboy that i bought of a guy closing down for 30 pound... my old boss bought it off me for double what i payed he was so pleased with it.. very light for up in the tree.

I wouldn't replace them with silky

the silky is telescopic.. witch is handy for in the tree use as no need to ad poles and take poles off. Silky Longboy 3600 | F R Jones and Son

I know some guys who'll get nice and comfy in the middle of a tree the fire away with the poles, mostly dead wooding that is:p
