makita DCS9010 seems a cheap deal

Thanks for the number for the spares Tom. I put my order in for a DCS9010, so looking forward to getting the 'battleship' out on a few jobs. It will be nice not to have to keep switching between the 18" and 28" bars for the DCS7901 at the yard.

Iv got two dcs 9000,s and a 9010 the ignition has just gone bad on the 1994 9000 after a hard life but iv just got a new flywheel and ignition module from the states for less than £100 . these saws rock they are built like tanks iv cut thousands of tones of timber with them

I run a 42 inch bar on the newer 9000 it pulls like a train the 9010 revs faster I run a 22 inch on her for felling I also own a ms 660 but just seem to use the dolmar/ makita saws always a talking point as there the wrong shade of blue for most folks liking LOL I remember having a dolmar 166 years back they are built along the same lines but that 166 was the most powerful saw iv ever used and iv used them all

Oh the 166! Should never EVER have sold mine!!! What a saw!

 

Parting with the 133 was a dumbass thing to do too.

Sorry to high jack the tread but What a tool 166 . iv just had a dig about and iv found a brand new 42 inch wide mount bar together with new recoil starter and side cover ,fuel tank with manual oiler and AVM'S rear handle with dead mans trigger , front handle ,felling spikes and jungle mufler all brand new old stock for the king of saws 166 They must be worth a bob or two
