Used my Hitch climber for the first time this week.

Tie the bowline long and it won't interfere with the hitch too much, and larks foot the biner on to the bowline if possible to keep it aligned.

 

Still not as good as a spliced eye though.

I was going to try a piece of rubber to close the loop. The splice is king , no denying that , but i don't fancy buying my own ropes so the 'long' bowline it is.

 

Did you splice them yourself?

If he is in house he works for the company that owns the ropes, as the person in that organisation with responsibility for LOLER, his employer can question his decision, but recovering costs? They gave him the rsponsibility and he has decided that without a CE mark the splice cant be used.

How has this thread turned in a splice discussion. I was just exited to have used and liked the hitch climber :blushing:
