I work for eight different ones round the sheffield area but I'm originally from woodhall spa. I use a top tie in point most for the time but if I am going to base tie then I just wrap it round the trunk a couple if times and tie a few half hitches round the standing part. I'm just on xtc at the mo so it's like an elastic band when base tied!

Did a little take down yesterday using the HH and it was very enjoyable. The main thing that stood out was going back up the pole, I just clipped in the chest harness and pantin and then could run up the stem on spikes with it tending the hitch all the way up, didn't even have to use my lanyard. I got a metre of the Hrc and it works spot on, grips every time and slack tends perfectly. I was using a dmm krab but I've gone back to the CT that came with it and I think it does work smoother. Can't wait to do more using it 😀

Does anyone that uses the HH in drt find that it's really jumpy in the wet?

Yes but I'm not sure why and don't care because I only ever DRT to get out the tree when my rope isn't long enough to do it the SRT way.

In this scenario I'm not using a cambium saver so that may contribute to some of the jerkiness. Actually I think it may be because the HH and spliced eye are connected to my bridge separately (when in DRT).
