Hitch Hiker thread.

Nice video old mill.. Slack tending looks a little tough right after its been loaded. Im surprised youve not found something to tend the HH. Seems a lot of hassle advancing by hand. At 4.30 it would have been much easier with both hands free surely?

Why?

I'm not using my arms to do much. If you think that SRT climbing is all about the arms, you have no comprehension of what it is.:sneaky2:

When climbing on a single line, you use your leg muscles mostly, hence the necessity of a Pantin, as has been mentioned on numerous occasions on the other SRT related threads.:001_tt2:

But it's still about gripping a skinny single line, bad for the lower arms/ elbows.

Yes you're right BenR. I didn't have the hitch set quite right and it was gripping a bit too much.

As said before the HH is super hitch sensitive and it takes a while to figure out what works for you.

Sliding the HH up the rope is the technique I used with my zk1 so it's stuck with me. I'd love to hear another point of view though.

??? Not sure what you mean about something to tend it. What do you use to tend your RW?

RW & HH will tend if you clip on cheat harness or LOTS.

I presume that's what he means Al, chest harness, lanyard over shoulder etc.....

I don't like the lanyard trick particularly although it does work.

How would you connect to the HH to drag it up with you?

I do find that a bit of a bind with the wrench, although one advantage of the very short and stiff bridge on my Treehopper harness, and the frog setup, is that it will get nudged along by that alone.....:thumbup1:
