As there are no smilies with that I will presume you are taking the mick.

Just made me laugh, if you don’t know the difference between a chuck key and a woodruff key, how do you hope to remote diagnose a car problem.

I thought a little gentle ribbing was appropriate, its nothing that wouldn’t happen in any workshop I have ever been in, my own included.

I would hope it is just a bit of moisture in the electrics and will clear once dry - have had this when steam cleaning engines in the past! Don't reckon enough water would have been ingested to damage the rods but time will tell.

Other than that - Rich just got his terms wrong, doesn't mean he doesn't know about engines or has an opinion that isn't worth much- I have looked round the workshop for a screwdriver I had in my pocket - does that make me an old prat, a bad engineer or silly old sod - think we all have our lapses and a light piss taking is expected - lets move on!

Well I'm in no mood to find that funny :001_tt2: Was just hoping for anyone with experience of this.

Here's the cleaner; paper element and basically totally saturated. No obvious water in air-off pipe from air box to turbo; as if filter element soaked it all up and sent super-humid air in - just oil from crankcase breather. Engine does not sound any better on tickover but does not mis-fire... I suppose to only way to confirm rod bending is head-off and check piston position; :001_rolleyes:

I would have a look at taking the injectors out to check the piston position

See should have got yourself a fibre optic inspection camera from Aldi when you had the chance.

Personally as gardenkit said get a new element. I wold also drop the oil and change it aswell.

If water really has got in deep it will have got everywhere.

Remember parts can be replaced we do have the technology. :001_cool:
