Government funding madness!

Cut Tony slack??? Have you gone stark raving mad? Tony needs pushing and goading and cajoling into doing something, to keep his brain whirring, otherwise he would just sit and fester in his darkened room. Muttering abut fungi and stress fractures to a flickering candle. This forum is a mixture of many types, many characters from many walks of life, of course we're not always going to agree, but I'm sure we agree to differ. :001_smile:

whatever we think about taxation the fact remains we have the lowest rates, and the rich continue to evade while the void between the working classes and the well heeled gets greater.

its undeniable, if you are at the bottom, and i know ive been there, you find a system that punishes you with charges, charges only the poor pay, charges like non direct debit charges, charges like youve been in debt for a while, cant afford to pay what you owe, and debt companies charge you a rate on top of your debt, lets say council tax debt, the council sell the debt to an agency who basicaly send you threatening letters and charges for administration that equal to or exceed your origional debts.

at one stage I got into trouble with my utilities bills, so they installed a pre payment meter on my gas an delectric and i now pay 10% over the odds for my fuels, they wont take it off less i pay 300 pounds as a service!

I hope for your sake that you never find yourself in true poverty huck, it is not a very nice place to be, and who do you think benifits from all these extra debt charges?

Where is my violin :001_rolleyes:

I've been there and had the Tshirt Tony, but we lived within our means and stayed out of dept. No car, no carpets, no phone, heating from wood I cut, my wife baking bread as it was cheaper, getting veg from the farm next door that was actually animal feed. But I was not bitter and did not blame others, I just worked hard and found a way to improve my lot :001_smile:

O.K, this isnt a joke, this is for real.

the government feel it is appropriate to fund opera (not the arts just Opera) to the tune of 28 million.

they want to cut the FC funding from 20 million to 13million.

what do you all think of those priorities?:001_huh:

Relax Tony.

Its not over untill the Fat Lady Sings.
