why notanswer messages when you get down, saves a lot of hassle and damaged phones. Plus I find nothing much more annoying when there are 2 climbers in a tree and every time I turn around my climbing buddy is on the bloody blower! aaargh! :scared1:

thats why i always leave my fone in the truck cab so i dont damage or lose it.

I broke so many screens, and got so many screens full of dirt, I finally gave up on flashy phones, went to the o2 shop (horrible moneygrabbing multinational!) and just said I didnt care what the phone did as long as it didn't break or get dust in the screen.

They recommended the nokia 5500 sport, was pretty cheap, has decent camera, internet, and all the usual gadgets. It's been dropped in the bath, run over by the van, squished by numerous logs while its been in my pocket, and dropped from heights at least a couple of times. It still works as well as the day I bought it over two years ago.

I would imagine the nokia 5500 is quite cheap to buy now. Highly recommend it.

The 5140i is pretty good, I was once dsmantling and ash in the wet and sleet and snow, all the choggs were thrown into the same pile. Only when I got down couldn't find the phone so we rang it and it was plugged about4 inches into the mud under the choggs with probably a tonne plus of wood on it and it still worked! :001_tongue:

I read on a forum of one of those that a farmer lost. So he got his mate to ring it. A nearby cow's stomach rang!

He did get it back the next day - in full working order.
