The 560 band originely had a slot cut out of the band close to the knee link joint, this weakened the band and this is where it breaks, this was part no. 505199501, the slot has now been taken away and the part no. changed to 505199502.

Thank you, this should allow me to confidently order - if I can one.

and this original band had the slot in it to shave a tinzy weenzy micro gram of weight from the total ! The best way I have found to stop the band from snapping is to not use the brake :001_smile: . Mine is one of the very first 2011 saws and the slotted band is still in tact

Unfortunately we have multiple operators, it would be nice to kit everyone out with their own saw sets, climbing saws, 560's and 66's. It would certainly identify the better operators and the abusers:sneaky2:

I never use the brake . Never have . Goes against modern rules but its habitual . They never had a brake , or AV when I first picked one up :001_smile:

Stubby, when you first used one they had pivoting bars and scratcher teeth!
