If your felling up to 30" timber, do you want anything "ighter and nippier" than a 372xp ???

Fair enough if your felling 15" - 20" trees

My 372 lives on an 18, up to 30" is the outside edge, the 50cc saw will be on roughly a 15" so yeah, i reckon it'll be just fine, and much more versatile.

I've done a fair bit of felling of 30" beech with a 560XP on a 15" bar and that was superb! Different saws but it's nice to not have to use the 372 all day.

The other option, especially if you would prefer to avoid going down the tuning route is the Dolmar PS5105; it is very strong in stock form whilst a modded version can be competely nuts - TCF assure me they will be stocking more - again at very good prices; suggest you email them to show there is a demand!

That Dolmar looks like a serious contender on balance, thought the 510 looks a cracking saw, i'd just like something strong without porting it straight out!

TCF - are these them?

Is this a sign I talk too much?

Ha, i wouldn't say so Chris, but it's noteworthy that when you do post it makes sense and is based on fact and experience rather then hearsay and utter nonsense! Your opinion is always welcome!

I was really happy when i used a 560XP in beech woodland on my CS32, the instructor had one on loan and i suddenly found it glued to my hands for 4 days! :001_rolleyes:

It's an unbelievable saw for it's weight, the niggles with it just put me off, i can't be bothered with the hassle if i get a bad one!

Cheers for the insightful responses!
