We traded in our 530 recently for a 540,similar age to yours.Very pleased with the bigger capacity especially on twisted or large forked branches.Slightly heavier on the trailer.I didn't think width was really an issue as with hopper off 540 is only still 900mm i think opposed to 750mm on 530.Would thoroughly recommend the folding hopper,our last one was the fixed variety and i'd never go back to it.

Re the hopper; HATE the fixed funnel type hopper; couldn't agree more. :thumbup1:

yer I used to 'reverse' mine onto a log to lift and level the hopper! Being tall, it was essential.

Got 540T coming next Monday for 3 days, was only let us have it for a day but you carn't judge it in that time, interesting comment on folding back shoot

Its alot of machine too Dean.

 

Mine is 10 years old,I have done the Bearings twice and am welding in new gussets onto the flywheel fans.Not bad for 2000 Hours.
