ive been asked to price up felling 6 scotch pine trees ranging from 60 to 90ft and 24inch dia upto 36inch dia.

is it any good for other than logwood

can it b got down in tree lenth

depends how straight it is, and how decent lenghts you can get from it, bars and rails etc.... anything 6" down or bent all over is logs :) Probabilly to small of volume though :(

They're big enough to be worth milling and Scots pine is general construction timber (aka European redwood). You'd get some nice width floorboards out of that lot, and probably fairly dense growth on the later years at least. It's the kind of thing you need for certain restoration jobs, but I'm not sure where you'd go to sell them as a small lot.

Watch out for blue stain on it. Don't leave it sitting for long before milling. Not a fan of it myself - sappy as hell, quite hard to cut really. Give me a nice Oak stick any day.

dito that,,,use it for rafters under my sheeting for timber stores ,,thats it,,,:001_smile:
