I thought this had been around for a while?

 

It may have been in england for a while but was on BBC news up here last week but didn't stipulate if it covers jock land, will get in touch with our local tree officer at some point but just wondered if any of you guys new.

Ok. I do remember reading something about it a while ago. Just didn't pay much attention as most hedges I do are about 2m anyway. If not they soon get made that way.

The High Hedges law does NOT apply to Scotland. It came from the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003 and came into effect in England by virtue of the High Hedges Regulations, see s93 of the Act clarifying that the Act and the Regulations cannot apply to Scotland.

Scottish Parliament is in the process of debating a High Hedges Bill which if it becomes an Act will bring a substantially same set of laws to Scotland.

I am just putting this up to avoid anyone else getting confused.
