Ok well would it be a) drop in job or b) contact the forest?

A could go swimmingly well no problems just some interest from local dog walkers walkers etc or we could have the forest on our back telling us to up sticks and leave!

B contact the forest ask and get rejected or allowed! This is dicey but the legitimate way which I would rather especially if there is more then 5 to 10 ropes and climbers turning up in force to climb old growths.

I climb in this forest regularly and have been stopped once even explaining to the up his arse ranger that my final T in P has been a cambium saver spike less climbing etc..

......buuuuut I am aware of no standing bylaws impairing people from climbing trees either free or roped up but obviously there is on wilful destruction or damage to the forest or habitats contained within.

But we all know this as we are respectful arborists so we would need to think of the best way to broach this to the forest or just turn up and pretend we know nothing but show all the courteous jestures we can a couple of black bags for bins no rubbish cambium savers etc

I'm not teaching anyone to suck eggs it's just a couple times I've met sum arsey rangers! Loool

I think we are best to go to a place were we cant be seen and just get on with it they cant tell us yes because of the hs involved . Like you said were all going to respect the forest and the wildlife and people in it and use cambium savers . So who is up for it then

glad you fella's are enjoying your climbing...but I'm still struggling to get to grips with 'recreational' and 'climbing' being used together....is there such a thing as 'recreational brick laying' I wonder? ;)

Because recreational climbing means you can throw out the book and monkey around. Plus working can get boring and repetitive....

Reccy climbing is going up the tree....without a chainsaw:D...you can chat to your new mates out on a limb...swing like tarzan or ascend to i higher position and meditate on how cool trees are then spiderjack back down to a couple of beers and a BBQ:cool:....that,is reccy climbing!;)
