Wood Chippings

Hiya, i am new to this site..i have found the info on here excellent so far, I have a small landscaping/gardening business in Surrey, so the help on chainsaws etc is really helpful..however I also own a small free range chicken farm which is in constant need of wood chippings...my first question is what chipping would be safe, I understand cedar and horse chestnut are not safe but apart from that I have no idea, eg lime, ash etc? could anyone help on where to get good clean and safe chippings? especially large bark chips if poss?

Its becoming increasingly difficult, especially with the wet weather. I am willing to pay a good price and there is always a constant need.

Keep up the good work!

Apparently hardwood shavings from joinery are bad for poultry as they have finer particles that get stuck in the gizzard. Which leads to respiratory problems and infections.

So I assume chunkier chip from a professional outfit with a good well maintained chipper helps.
