I used to wind the hubs in about November and wind them out about February when shooting had finished.

 

Well worth taking the viscous fan off and replacing with Kenlowe or similar.

 

It paid for itself and gave the truck a little bit more go.

 

I used to get 24.5 mpg before and 31 mpg all the time no matter how it was driven after fan conversion when it was on the road.

Nice point on the Kenlowe-anything that bumps the MPG up that much is worth doing.

I have a 110 pick up and also a mk3 Hilux, The landie is better at towing as it has a 2.5 turbo, and will happily pull any thing. The Hilux has a 2.4 non turbo engine and when it's pulling a couple of ton behind, it's a strugle up the hills.

The landie is a pain to maintain, Where as the Hilux never goes wrong, is comfy to drive and cruising to look at jobs.

Cooking oil? untreated? if so diluted with diesel at what percentage? Does it smell like a chip shop?

i own a 130 tipper TD5 as my work truck and all my other ferring about i use a x reg d-cab hilux 2.4 i have to say for work i would jump in the landy any day but for every thing else iid use the hilux

I can't believe your asking this question.

I have 58 and 00 plate and are butts nuts the only thing is 00 has no abs but other than that they won't be beat in the feild.

Have a mk3 good robust truck bit slow. Mk 4 is nicer to drive loads more poke not as tough. both will handle a tonne if you are thinking of putting 2 tonnes of chip on dont bother buy a 130 defender. With basic serviceing you get in and flick the key starts first time and things rarely go wrong unlike some of the incredibly poor defenders we have had. The heater works and u dont get a gallon of water over u everytime u turn a corner.
