Slack tending a hitch climber? (not the obvious way)

I saw a video on climbingarborist.com about slack tending a prusik whilst ascending. Im just wondering if anyone knows of any way of doing it with a hitch climber? I know this sounds like the blindingly obvious and I dont know how to explain it so watch the video :001_smile:

Advanced climbing techniques | Prusik hitch with slack tender

I tried it with a prusik and it was brilliant but obviously once your in the canopy a hitch climber is favourable so if anyone has any ideas it would be great

Also does anyone know where I can get one of those mini rope grab/ascender things hes using on the static end of his line?

bit of study of both threads and vidz.

I just tried it on my lanyard with my mini secret weapon, single pulley and prussic, works great.

I prefer minimal kit when climbing.

When working next week,if you see Richard ,ask to see the setup for the hitch climber where he can pull from beneath .or buy a spider jack :P

don't use a tibloc on the o rig Bing, it can get a bit loaded and be hard to release. but yeah, itll work. a small prussic made from 6mm cord is the best ive found

listen to drew guys, DONT use a tiblock it doesnt work nearly as well as a nice short 8mm liros prussic, 1m of 8mm liros tied with double fishermans and then into a 6 wrap pussic with the knots on the bridge, nice strong snap gate & a micro pulley
