Sorrow

In between doing commissions I love to give free reign to more purely art driven carvings. Heres one I finished recently, I wanted to use the saw as a pencil to "sketch" out the woman if that makes sense. Think the final piece captures the vulnerability that I wanted to give it.

The wood is Sycamore and as always its 100% chainsaw.

I love this one Kim, lovely piece. Reminds me of an angel sculpture (in stone) i am trying to emulate in wood. Its called Remembrance and Redemption Angel

So far i have only roughed-out one side but there is something about sorrow that seems to fit the wood somehow. If i ever manage to complete it good enough Ill post some pics

Thanks everybody :-)

Hi Splinters, thanks :-),although I love doing the commissions (they're still my own designs at the end of the day) I do sometimes feel a little bit restricted by them especially once the challenge of doing something for the first time has gone (that's why I leave the owls to the hubby :-) and luckily I get asked for lots of different things). It's just finding time do something that's not been paid for, glad I did in this case and I'm going to do so more over the next few months.

That'd be great to see pics of Dervish when you're done :-)

Really TCD? I feel honoured :-)

Kim
