What others think

Yes,keeping your own council when confronted with miserable comments is often a good policy, but i did waver yesterday morning.

A retired farmer had asked me to drop and log up a nasty windblown hanger in his little wood, and an big unclimbable rotten birch leaning the wrong way beside a fence, both of witch his local man ''didnt like the look of''

After an hour and half with the sweat rolling off me both were on the deck where i wanted them and logged up. He came strutting over from his house and said ''well they were easy enough then, dont know what my man was afraid of''

So for once i explained the whys and wherefors of my work, then stuffed his folding money into my pocket.
