Hi everyone- as the title says I was wondering what vehicles you had when you first started out.

 

Im looking at getting my first vehicle for general garden/tree work that is economical and cheap to insure (im only 18!)

 

Any thoughts would be welcome!

2,days before i past my test my dad got us a new too us 10year old transit 175 tipper good job i passed then

First one of my own was a ex forestry commision Sherpa (LDV) 400. Great trucks.

Escort van, with trailer. Cheap, cheap, cheap and generally quite reliable. More space in the back than you think. Sign written they look respectable. Low insurance, tax, fuel bills etc etc.

An ex LA bright yellow transit tipper. Used an old grave make sure that we dismantled for the sides. Did the trick though haha.

Honda Acty UWX 103X...£375 deposit followed by 18mths at £66..remeber going into the village with me name on the side and big smerk on face..felt like I was driving artic. Any load garden rubbish moved to tip for £10.

Haha - I was thinking a Land Rover 130 with a tipper body but am now moving off this idea! Too expensive !!

 

Has anyone had experience of Transit SWB panel vans? dont really need a tipper/flat bed at the moment

but if you get a flat bed you could do what is mentioned in an earlier post to move folks rubbish for them
