dvla wont let you use second hand chassis,unless you re regester your landy on a Q plate, i had a bit rot on my 110 so i cut it out and mig welded new 3mm plate.never failed since.use wax oil inside &out.

 

It works on a points system doesn't it? So as long as the chassis is the only thing not original to the vehicle then it keeps it's identity

If memory serves me right, I think there's only a couple of points given to the chassis itself, and you can drop upto 4 points in total before requiring the Q plate.

the problem occurs with using a second hand chassis is the chassis number even ground off it can be read with forensiscs and this is where they get funny about it ! yes the points system should work but in reality they can make life difficult for people :(
