CS30+31 course in Dorset

Hi everyone

 

I'm trying to get my foot on the arbo ladder by getting my CS30 + 31 tickets. I've seen a VERY cheap course running down in Dorset by Brian Charman & Associates for about £215 (excluding NPTC assessment).

Has anyone been on a course with this company, have any recommendations etc?

 

Does seem like very good value (even includes equipment hire!) Any thoughts gratefully received!

Looking at their page, you are quoting the price of assessment only. The course appears to be £320, plus the £215 assessment charge. Still looks good on price though.

Yeah it's a pretty good price on the website - I emailed them and they replied that actually it would be £125.00 for cs30 and £90.00 for cs 31.

 

Seems like an amazingly cheap course but was wondering if anybody knew of the company or had been on one of their courses - I have "you get what you pay for" in mind!

Actually ignore my last post - you are right the 215 is the cost of the assessment ( I mis read the email they sent me) Still the course cost at £320 (or £288 with discount) seems v cheap.

I've known Brian for years and we have used him for various training. If hes is looking for numbers to make up cs31 I have a lad who needs this.

I used arbor venture for my chainsaw ticket, and that was £374!! rookie error there I think!

Arbor venture are expensive but then they are very good

The ranger service i am with generally use Dorset Training ltd. They are based at Deveril Farm, Milborne St Andrew. Not sure on prices but are about the same as Brian Charman Associates.

I have had training with Brian once and I know a few others that have used him. To be honest I was not impressed and either were the guys who I spoke to who have done other things with him. I am sure he would get you through it fine but I would say speak to Lesley at newlands training and she what she has got on.
