we sometimes leave big stubs so that your rope isnt running over open, flush wounds. only on removals though. also works well on some of the pines here that just ooze sap from cuts.

Anyone mention that the branches are wery heavy, no need for step cuts and chuck as they snap off with the slightest of cuts. The spines and sap ate a real pain. I loaded the brush into the truck with the crane trailer and chomped it down rather than try chipping it. the spines point to the tips of the branches and when you drag them or push into a chipper they are digging in.

had to take out seed pods on a large bunya pine in oz. 2 phrases spring to mind, character building and if it doesn't kill you it'll only make you stronger.

Took this one down a couple of years back, ok to climb imo, but they do make a mess on the ground. Ian (janner) had to go back and spent the whole day raking the guys 20sq ft lawn, we did an ok job of it the first time

I ve felled a few both dead and alive. the live ones weren t too bad the dead one was a bitch, had been dead for a while spike s just sliding down the stem. not nice but still do-able
