My plywood greedy boards are getting a bit tired. also, their get quite heavy when wet ( I leave them outside when not in use). So I was thinking of getting some of them 16mm polycarbonate sheets and using them. I would give them a bit of support around the edges with wood or aluminium. I have some on a roof and have found them to be quite strong. Any thoughts???

don't think they would do it, plastics get brittle in the cold.

look on ebay for recycled plastic sheet its like ply but totally weather proof i used it to build a chip body for my truck and got the visible faces covered with dibond ally board and it looks the dogs, its much cheaper than grp and i think it will last longer to

They look brilliant they do. I've got a Sankey Wolf army trailer that I use for camping etc, and currently use a canvas cover on it. While ago I bought locks and catches with the intention of making a hard top from alloy planking, but the price of the alloy planking shot up compared with what I paid before so the project got put on hold. These recycled plastic boards look perfect :)
