Yeah dynamic is a rock climbing line and has a stretch in it . Dynamic is used when the fall potential is high . The Cinch is a mint little device . Hope it works out well for ya

You don't notice the stretch on the lanyard with it being a short length of rope . Well I don't notice any stretch and if you do it will be minimal . I've used Dynamic rope with my cinch from the day I bought it. Apart from once trying some static line . The Dynamic rope wears out quicker than than static rope .

What is the reason for you using dynamic rope? I love how smooth the cinch is using it srt as a second line. That handle is a right little treat.

The Cinch was designed primarily as a belay device to be used with Dynamic rope for top roping of rock climbers . In the event of a fall the stretch in the dynamic rope limits the shock on the climber . I personally use dynamic because its what the cinch was designed to be used with and Ive got 160 metres of the stuff to use up  On a lanyard static rope would be fine :001_smile: I would not like to shock load the cinch from a height while running a static rope as it was not designed to work in this way . Although if slack was kept to a minimum then all should be good . How are you using yours?
