Chaps I have just read that a weird whistling turbo under power can be a warped manifold, broken nuts? am I worrying too much or am I due a trip down the mechanics? Thing is its done it since I bought my landy back in march but after reading this I thought I would ask the question

Thankyou

I have one with a warped manifold now. What does it sound like, a slipping fan belt?

HI 18 you have a td5 THEN MATE THANKS JON

Yeh, I've got two td5's. The one that's chipped has warped the manifold, quite common due to extra heat & boost from remap.

I have a guy who can do mine, a bit of a speciality of his. He fills in the "gaps" in the cast, gets the face re ground flat & hey presto👍

I have a JE Engineering stage 1 remap, my manifold studs have loosened, so there are 2 options to consider, Alisport sports manifold or JE Engineering offer a manifold stud kit with special spacers that allow the manifold to move without whistling.

HI HERTS when there remap and pulling very hard that manifold must get hot on my old FIAT UNO TURBO we had the same thing we got away with it on our TD5 BUT we did not tow much but them TD5 are great if there remap well by some who no.s there stuff like JE ALISPORT JERMY FERN IN MATLOCK done my one my old my DID it fly and pull like train :thumbup:thanks jon
