using two krabs and a hitch on top but with the krabs arranged differently so as to offset the hc from its intended working position. If that makes sense?! It doesn't quite make sense in my head at the moment, I'll have to try it!

how can you arrange the krabs differently to offset the HC? the only different way i can see is the pulley wheel facing you as how i used to use it instead of facing away how i use it now?

 

unless you put the krabs in the top and middle instead of top and bottom?

Scrap the hitch part, use a hc with a krab in each of the two end parts, clip both into the dyneema bit of the sj. It has a lot of friction on a test pull, but I'll wait until tomorrow to put my weight on it.

offseting the HC does kind of work. If you set it with a big carabiner so it literally flips over when you start descending than you get a litte friction in the mix. it would work better if it were a solid bar. and you also have to hold the tail when you descend.
