why not find out if the council are fighting against builders on another site

 

 

 

& see what methods they are using ,ther be somthing close i bet

It appears to be a consultation on the LDF - i.e. the designation of the land in the next local plan. Who owns the land is pretty irrelevant at this stage, and there are unlikely to be any planning applications at this stage either!

 

The LDF will be open to challenge if local views are disregarded.

It would be worth talking to the people that own the land. At this stage the developer will have given them a hugely inflated price of whats its worth so they will be feeling rich and greedy. When they have outline planning the develper will drop the bomb shell its worth alot less. I know this from first hand experience. You will need to think outside the box and forget logic and proceedure to beat this. If its council land they will be keen to develop it as they get money for it and 40% will be handed over for social housing.

As an LDF consultation there need not be any developers involved yet. There might be, if the LPA is in partnership with someone to develop the land, but there is no guarantee of that.

 

My guess is that the land is LPA owned, but it could be private. Blocks of woodland in predominantly built up areas tend to belong to local authorities though.

While I might be inclined to support your cause Tony, I tend to harden my stance when people play the guilt game. I have no reason to doubt that others do to - so you might find it counterproductive to infer that anyone not immediately jumping on your latest bandwagon is against saving trees!

 

The other thing that lessens my interest is that you seem proudly ignorant about the specifics of the threat! To my mind, it is the threat that determines whether I consider that the investment of my support is worthwhile. It's hard to judge whether a cause is credible if the person asking for your support uses the words "blah blah" in their description of its seriousness.

 

Finally, and this is the critical matter; in addition to checking that the cause is relevant to your target audience , you should be sure that your target audience is relavant to your cause. This appears to be an LDF consultation (as identified by HCR above) and as I am not a resident of Hastings, I would be surprised if my opinion as a resident of Norfolk carries much weight. The campaign website seems to suggest that they will (quite reasonably IMO) use the double edged sword of localism in their fight...
