Hi all i'm looking to buy a daf 45/150 tipper with hiab piped for grab as i'm sick of knocking hell out of everything i run (all being 3.5t vehicles) just sick of repairing things every week. Obviously i want it registered as aggricultural for said benifits and was woundering how to go about doing so. I do know there are two tax groups for aggricultural one being a limited milage affair which wont be suitable. Any help welcomed.

you get the form from post office fill it in,hey presto,ag reg. Then the first time the ministry/vosa see you be prepared with lots of lube, you cant just run untold miles full of chip from domestic jobs, and as for the red diesel side of things there have been numerous threeads on the subject. good luck

If you want any or said benifits you will attract attention and will be checked to see if you are you using for Ag. If its Ag for domestic/hgv goods & reward avoidance then a second truck to replace the 'taken' maybe necessary.

As a ex truck owner, now arborist, I could not show just reasons for any Ag vehicle.(Yes, I can have, but not on Ag operating class) I must admit though I only do domestic/commercial. If I had forestry and farming on my books it maybe different. The Unimog I have is on white derv, tacho cald. There is no confusion or grey area. It is the style of work that the vehicle is employed on as well as the vehicle style/make/model.

It is known for vosa/authorities to look at paid invoices to see vehicle usages. Milages away from base etc.

Trailer usage may well be limited if changes to taxation classes are done.

I think John P summed it up.

Be careful about what gains you think you will make.
