At least give us the gist of it.

 

Aussie on the run ends up in Bombay, and has amazing adventures with gangsters, slum-dwellers, drinkers, women, whores. Actually, it's a bit like the Friday night at Jonesies show.

 

He serves some pretty brutal prison time, gets involved the Afghan war against the Russians, and has numerous other scrapes.

 

He dies horribly at the end when he falls off a cheap ladder and decapitates himself with a Spear & Jackson saw running a 16" bar whilst trying to prune a troublesome Yukka plant for a pathetic amount of cash seeing as how high overheads are to run a bona-fide tree company etc. etc.

I can highly recommend Joe Abercrombie - his trilogy is cracking and revolutionised the fantasy gendre!!

Shantaram.....amazing book.....and for the best part true......how one man can fit so much into one life......they were in talks about making a film with johnny deep in the lead...:thumbup:
