Why not just pay £340 and price it into the job??

Have done, just have to wait and see, and Mr Walker I figure the tree will take no more than 3 hours to get on deck so if ya fancy showing me how to man up and climb it I'll pay you £350 only conditions are you can't damage the single thickness brick wall the tree is resting on, the shed on the other side of the wall or the neighbours fence and shed that the tree is now over

Si, I have no doubt in Mr Walkers abilities to get the tree down without damage to property, he has a vast amount of experience :001_smile:

My sarcasm was at your comment about expecting a week for £340, whether meant in jest or not we, as tree surgeons are always moaning about people undervaluing us, don't let's start doing it ourselves.

Sorry if I came across wrong :thumbup1:

The £340 for a week was a joke, and when the price was broken down it did seem reasonable apart from I think delivery is about 10 miles each way so seems a little ott at £80. I would always prefer to give me money to a fellow arb than a hire company, where ever possible. If I get back to the job I'll get some pics. In my time I've done the trees that no one else would touch so it's not often I resort to a mewp but in this case it's the only way

Delivery cost isn't just the 10 miles each way - it's also the cost for the time of the bloke delivering, and the fact it has to be picked up again at end of day. So that's 40 miles altogether. When I was collecting import cars from the docks and delivering them to people I was always charging close to £2/mile just to make it worth the effort of sorting paperwork, hanging around, driving etc.
