When we weighed up doing a show making a profit never came into it. The cost would have to come from the business. Your damned if you do and damned if you dont. Shows are an opportunity to show case yourself and meet your customers face to face. I dont know what margins are in chain saws but I know there is 5% max in generators unless you sell chinese junk. How much can you discount a generator if you are making £15 before you pay your overheads. The thought of hireing a stand at a show these days has us rolling around on the floor.

So how did the tee shirts go? Did they sell well. If so what other shows are they going to be at?

I have a feeling that they didn't sell as well as Steve had hoped, although it was pretty pooy weather at the show so I don't think that helped. I expect they will be at all the main shows.

Tbh, a slow start on the Tee shirt sales, but a lot of the chaps who came over for the Axe throwing hadnt even heard of Arbtalk!!!!! hard to believe I know, but the message hasnt got around yet that there is a forum for Arbs, run by Arbs, and British based too. i dont think the weather helped either tbh, it was so blustery and showery it was hardly conducive to trying on Ts. It did surprise us, given the number of people whove asked for shirts over the years, now we have them there was less interest than anticipated. well be at Justins show and the APF, so youre not too late, and Steve will be selling online too. they are a good quality T, nicely designed, IMO well worth £15 ea.

steves dept Im afraid, he'll get it sorted after the weekend I expect, the shirts only came in the morning before the show, so he was busy checking them over and packing them for the show, then we were at the show for both days, home late last night.

Cool, I'm going to that show next month so I will be sure to pop over and get one.

Might even have a go at axe throwing, what size axe is it, need to practice you know.

Just ordered my Ochsenkopf. Hopefully by the time of Justin's show I might be able to get it in the target the right way round!
