You are absolutely right Felix. I have been involved in the re pollarding hundereds of Large London Planes in central London during the last 5 years..it is Fast and intense in what i call "Factory tree work"..i have only ever seen one opperative wearing one in that time. it is something that needs looking at. i.e a mask that can be worn as well as full PPE without the risk of passing out from the heat! it is imo the worst practice in tree surgery and we are at thye mercy of Bosses who demand work done at full commercial speed in a high target area....NOT NICE! and hopefully this will be my last couple of Planes...EVER! Smoking is also carcinogenic and ALSO impossible to do whilst wearing a mask...

I have worked on the ground many times in london on planes in the height of summer and its a nightmare wearing a mask but i have worn one a couple of times as i have asthma but its not that bad its more sneezing than everything else. but they do need to find a way to make a sprinkler system for chipping as thats always fun.:001_smile:
