Chainsawing with the grain

I find saws wont cut down a ring(only makes sawdust), so cut in line with the grain as if slicing up a big thin ring (produces saw straw), maybe drop the rakers a bit.

 

Should make Swedish candles no prob, sure that's the way they do it, you will fill your Volvo in Abba-out 1/2 hour:thumbup:

My chain sharpening is not the best but not had a problem cutting candles or with the grain. Worst problem I seem to get is long stringy bits clog saw. I tend to hold a few inches out of cut and not pressure on saw so the strands break up a bit.
