Got an infestation of these critters, making a right meal of the foliage on every tree down at the yard and have noticed trees all over the area are munched on

Got one on my neck and it nipped me the little got

are they hanging from threads? Looks like tortrix ( leaf roller caterpillar)

Ive just had an invasion of ermine moth caterpillars with their webs across a hedge, defoliating at an alarming rate. Out with the blowlamp, frazzled the webs, Robin Redbreast loves a feast of the blighters.

Got these back again this year in their thousands, they are defoliating all my trees. I'm going to buy a stihl backpack petrol sprayer and sort them.

I think I may be too late for this year, I would presume you need to spray them in the caterpillar stage, I reckon the are getting ready to change so by the time I get organised.........

 

What insecticide will I need

 

Does anyone know if encouraging bluetits etc works for future reference
